Jerome's population dropped to less than 50 after the mine closed, but started a comeback around 1970 when some thought the town's colorful, "wicked" history (opium dens, gambling houses, saloons, prostitution) was worth preserving. Now it's full of artist's galleries, shops & restaurants, but the population is only ~350. |
