Terre-de-Haut harbor, Le Chamois (mountain) on right

A small fishing boat called a santoise

On the road up to Fort Napoleon, view of Basse-Terre

Goats were roaming all about, very friendly

A couple goats by the fort's outside wall

Another harbor view — I couldn't get enough (though you probably will)

Thick walled fortifications surround the fort

Approaching the fort's entrance...

The courtyard inside

There's a path atop the ramparts with botanical gardens that encircle the fort ...

with panoramic views of the islands and sea.

The iguanas were thriving around the vegetation on top of the fort.
They were very cool and tolerated tourists well.
