The herons are ever present, ever fascinating. The bottom two pictures were taken at the nearby rookery,
where as intruders, we were bombarded with dead fish, frogs and other unmentionable liquid.

 



This guy/gal happened by the other morning —quite friendly and reminiscent of the great Peterette,
of Plantation, Florida, late 1960s-70s. She and her family would roam the canals & yards of our neighborhood.




Very protective mother duck, we haven't seen as much of this family as the geese.

 



The cute goslings made putting up with the mess left in the yard easier. There were two families:
5 goslings in one, 2 in the other. They soon got together (below) and now travel as a clan.
