Background:
Krisanne
found him, wandering the streets of North Grosvenordale, CT. He agreed
to live with her in return for a warm home and regular meals. When she
moved to Florida in September 2001, he came to us on a temporary basis.
The plan was for her to get settled down south, then send for Stinky
by plane. Well, plans change ...
Personal:
He
immediately filled some of the void left by Wiley,
having the same congenial, big lugged-ness. Sara loved him, he gave
her a lot of attention (grooming) and played (boxing & chases) with
her and Lucy. But he had some tough adjustments to make ... becoming
an indoor-only cat was the hardest. He would drink from the toilets,
scratch on furniture and moldings, toss cat litter to the wind, and
roam about, angst-ridden. His moaning meows announced his presence wherever
he went. He has a unique personality, and is super sensitive to cat-talking
and combs going through his sisters' fur: he's there in an instant for
his share. We didn't like his name at first we thought he deserved
better but now it's who he is, and a term of endearment often
shortened to "Stink." None
of us could imagine him leaving, so Krisanne made the sacrifice to let
him stay, not wanting to disrupt his life again.
Accomplishments:
He's
a sweet, affectionate guy who won us over quickly. Meets and greets
family, friends and repairmen with equal enthusiasm, trotting out. Famous
for his stretch, discovered by Krisanne. Purrs loudly and crunches
food at the same time. Is ever-ready to play, and always "entertaining"
us with new antics. Has a serene face and very expressive eyes. He still
gets bored at times, but gets satisfaction watching birds and squirrels
at close range, and "outdoor" periods in the garage. Has attention-deficit
disorder in that he can't remember "No!" behavior from one
moment to the next; but he's hard to stay mad at. He inspires a lot of love from his people.
