We arrived late at night, after two grueling 6-hour flights. But we knew the drill, having travelled to Hawaii 11 years earlier. And since that first trip — with so much left unseen and undone — I'd been wanting to go back.

And finally we were there, at a place at the top of my yearning, burning, desire list: Kauai. After regaining our energy and adjusting to the time change, we were off and running. It was an amazing two weeks on Kauai and the Big Island ...
